Education and Designations
Betty Burney graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1978 with a
major in Accounting.
After working with Orin
Dickerson, a CPA in the Smyrna, Tennessee area, in September 1981, she bought his practice and
began working as Betty S. Burney, CPA.
Mrs. Burney has operated a
CPA practice in Smyrna, Tennessee for over 25 years and is well-known in the
Middle Tennessee area for providing monthly accounting (general ledger,
reporting, etc.) and tax services to clients, including individuals and
businesses.
Mrs. Burney's practice has
focused primarily on the monthly documentation and reporting needs of
businesses and has included selected reviews. Her expertise in working with
restaurants, construction, and various other businesses has provided the necessary support and office
functions for such enterprises.
Effective February 2007, Mrs.
Burney has sold her practice to her son, David Burney, CPA, though she will
continue to work for him as an employee of the newly formed Burney &
Associates CPA firm.
